Cindy Zellefrow, RN BSN MS.Ed, CTS.
Cindy Zellefrow came to school nursing in 1999 after spending 17 years working as an ICU, critical care transport and emergency room nurse in urban hospitals in both Pittsburgh and Columbus OH. She has been involved in school-based crisis response since 1994. Cindy has been a member of South Western City Schools district flight team (crisis response team) since 2002 and is a member of the building crisis response teams in the elementary and high school buildings she services.
In 2005, she joined the Traumatic Event Crisis Intervention Planning (TECIP) training team. She also has a strong foundation in safe school planning/NIMS compliance and pandemic flu preparedness planning. Cindy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, her school nurse certification from the Ohio State University, her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton and is certified as a Trauma Specialist through TLC Institute. Cindy was named the 2004 Ohio PTA School Nurse of the Year and is a co-founder of C.O.P.E.S. Consulting LLC.
Too many schools (and districts as a whole) wait for a tragic event to occur before seeing the need of having an organized response team and a well defined plan in place.
Have a question about C.O.P.E.S. or TECIP?
Does your district need TECIP training?
